3. Generally, soft-sealed ball valves use tetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) as the sealing material, and the sealing surface of hard-sealed ball valves is made of metal surfacing. If it is necessary to clean the pipeline ball valve, be careful not to damage the sealing ring and leak during disassembly.
4. When disassembling the flanged cast steel ball valve, the bolts and nuts on the flange should be tightened first, then all the nuts should be slightly tightened, and finally firmly fixed. If the individual nuts are forcibly fastened first, and then other nuts are fastened, the gasket surface will be damaged or broken due to uneven bearing between the flange faces, resulting in medium leakage from the butt joint of the valve flange.
5. If the valve is cleaned, the solvent used must not conflict with the parts to be cleaned and not corrode. If it is a special ball valve for gas, it can be cleaned with gasoline. Other parts can generally be washed with reclaimed water. When cleaning, thoroughly clean the residual dust, oil and other attachments. If it cannot be cleaned with clean water, it can be cleaned with alcohol and other cleaning agents in a targeted manner without damaging the valve body and parts. . After cleaning, wait for the cleaning agent to completely evaporate before installing.
6. If a small leak is found at the packing during use, the stem nut can be tightened slightly until the leak is stopped, and the tightening cannot be continued.
7. Long-term open-air storage will cause the valve body and parts to corrode and cannot be used normally. When the ball valve is stored, it should be protected from rain, water and moisture, and the flange cover should be tightly closed. Valves stored for more than 12 months should be retested when in use to ensure stable performance.
